Baby Jared's ultrasound pics are now online in the photo gallery. Today Becky finally learned how to say "grandpa". Until now, she's been calling him "go-kah", even though grandma (Barnet) has been "gammy" and grandma Alice has been "ga-ma A-wis" all along. Misti and Becky practiced the differences and similarities in sounds between 'grandma', 'grandpa', and 'go-kah' until she finally made the switch.

Well, the more I really dig deeper into CSS-P (cascading stylesheets for positioning), the harder it gets. Inconsistencies amongst browsers is enough to drive you batty. Despite what everyone thinks, Mozilla does not offer the best support for the standards. I've found that Opera and K-Meleon are the best browsers (too bad I don't particularly like using either one, personally) for CSS support. What everyone does know is that IE 6 is not very good at standards (even in 'strict' mode) - the box model in IE is all screwed up. Mozilla is too slow and bloated - just like Netscape Communicator was 5 years ago. Even Firebird runs slow compared to the other choices, and all the Gecko-based browsers are riddled with bugs. Unfortunately, as long as 9 out of 10 people keep using MSIE, that's what I'll keep designing for. Yes, standards are nice, but right now they're too idealistic. The cold stark reality is that everyone still uses IE, and it doesn't appear like anything's going to change anytime soon, even though standalone IE development has been halted. Just a couple of years ago, who would've thought that we'd ever see the day when both Netscape and MSIE would both be dead. The 'browser wars' have become nostalgia.
