Becky is all up in arms about the whole Eolas legal patch update for Internet Explorer, because it breaks Adobe Shockwave Player game pages at Nick, Jr.'s website. (This is caused by Microsoft's Update for Windows XP [KB912945].)
Luckily, I've updated my code to offset the change. Thus, here is the same video from a few days ago, this time updated with some Javascript-requiring, Eolas-stinkin'-accommodating code. UPDATE: the workaround DOESN'T WORK when the "Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)" check box is cleared - like mine was. Lame.
You won't have to activate the ActiveX control in IE before seeing this video, but you will on the previous one (I left this on purpose so you can see the difference).

Peanut Mallow 007 Hole Lemun
I tried a Pure Protein Peanut Marshmallow Eclipse bar the other day. Very tasty, mmmm. There are two celebrity lookalikes in our ward that we noticed yesterday: a guy that's a dead ringer for Timothy Dalton, and a kid that looks like Harland Williams (the guy from "Rocketman" and "Down Periscope").
Another IE security hole has been unearthed, bleh. In better news, I enjoyed reading some of J.P. Ulmen's comic strip, "Lemun Drops", found at lemundrops.com. Good stuff!

Fish Park Trout Video PageFlakes
We visited Boise's Municipal Park (a.k.a. "the fish park") last Saturday upon Scott Wilmonen's suggestion, and captured some video that Brad and Mike might enjoy:

Click the play button to begin streaming the video.

If you have fast broadband (no, that's not redundant - there really are fast and slow kinds of broadband), email me for a link to the larger, longer movie.
I tried out a new web-based RSS reader/portal app yesterday called PageFlakes, and it's fairly nice! It's a better implementation of the increasingly familiar Start.com/Live.com/ItsAStart.com/Netvibes.com concept. If you're in the market for a free, online newsreader, give it a try!

Bach Mike Chicken Little $2 Nampa
Today is J.S. Bach's birthday (born 3/21/1685), and they had some great classical lute music of his on the BSU radio station during the commute home tonight. Very cool. Mike has another blog - very visually stimulating!
We took the kids to see the movie "Chicken Little" (2005; Don Knotts, Patrick Stewart, Joan Cusack) at the $2 Reel Cinema on Saturday. Here's the crazy thing, though: there are at least 4 movie theaters on the same street (Overland) in Boise within 5 miles of one another! Talk about confusing. Needless to say, we missed our showing initially, and had to wait for the next showing.
Becky and Jared also enjoyed playing at South Fork Park in Nampa on Saturday morning. Very windy and cold, however.

Geocoin Church RSS Firefox Africa Chubby
We found the "Montecito" cache and an accompanying BadAndy coin ("Krugerrandy #33") last night. Very heavy geocoin!
I was pleased to hear that the Church's website now offer RSS feeds. Very cool. Jared lately has been saying two new cute words, "Africa" (Ap-ica) and "Chubby". =)
Firefox really needs an "Open Link in Same Tab" option on the right-click menu, for those times when you want something to open in the same tab, not a new one - it happens, of course (quite frequently), and there's only an option to open in a new tab, or in a new window, but not in the already existing one (but code and/or extensions are constantly forcing new tabs). This should be easy, right? Please add it. Thanks.
Today, we found the "Where's the Fire?" cache (very cool), with yet another heavy geocoin, a 4BOWS coin (#110). Two heavy non-standard geocoins within 24 hours - weird!

Monster Energy Juice Tasty
I tried some Monster Energy supplement juices yesterday and today, in three flavors: Khaos (orange), Lo-Carb (blue), and Regular (green). Pretty tasty.
McAfee RFID Crestor OS X Patch Alien Green Chile
McAfee sucks, as a recent update triggered a rash of false positives that has deleted thousands of folks' legitimate Adobe, Google, and Microsoft software. Oops!
RFID chips can transmit viruses. Nice. More info is available at rfidvirus.org and rfidguardian.org. The RFID future world is a scary place to live... Watch for a major Hollywood film about this topic within a year, something along the lines of "Minority Report". You heard it here first!!
In health news, the new drug Crestor looks promising to manage cholesterol levels and help reverse clogged arteries. Think of it as the "anti-french fry" drug. =)
Adobe Flash and Shockwave have security holes. Patch now, folks (Mac OS X users included, of course).
I found an awesome RSS generating PHP script the other day. It can be modified to serve any kind of media file, such as: jpgs, docs, mp3's, video, etc. Simple, yet effective! This makes it useful to serve up any kind of mediacast or filecasts (podcasts, videocasts, PDFcasts, DOCcasts, XLScasts, EXEcasts (ooh, scary), or whatever! It's based upon "alien-green-chile-technology/1.1". =)

Snow Boise Sitelutions Host
We had a tiny bit of snow last night, but it all melted early this morning. This has been the mildest winter ever. Wow, and you'd have thought that Boise would get a lot of snow - well, guess again. It must be the super low elevation or something. Hmmmm.
Well, the website is now officially on a new host, Sitelutions. If anything's broken, just let me know, and I'll try and fix it straightaway. Thanks.

I finished listening to "The Broker" by John Grisham that Brad lent me a few weeks ago. Great story - maybe even the best one yet! I highly recommend it.
I saw another new online RSS reader, called Netvibes. I didn't really care for it much, although it was quite similar to Windows Live, Start.com, and ItsAStart.com, but actually did work a little better than those other three. Way better than Google Reader, too - although that's not hard.
I found it extremely cool that some Adobe PDFs (depending on how they're authored) can now be not only edited, but also saved - even without Acrobat - in just the free Adobe Reader. Very cool - is this a version 7 only feature? I'm guessing so. One outstanding reason to upgrade!

We listened at work to the cool, new album "On An Island" by David Gilmour, in the funky booklike case (no jewel case with this CD). Sweet.
Other cool songs heard recently:
"Good Night (to the Good Kings)" by The Napoleon Blown Aparts
"Movie Star" by Whitney Steele

Well, the whole emo music scene has got Joe Guilliams and me baffled. We've heard so many different genres of music that all purport to be "emo", that I've come to the conclusion that emo really isn't a genre at all, just a fad term. Tyler Williams said that emo is dying off anyway, and out of anyone we know, Tyler would know. We did hear some good Matchbook Romance songs, though, on The Cry Baby Emo Kids Podcast - not bad, although the guys hosting the cast sound a little metro...
Windows Defender blows. I'm about sick of this stinkin' message popping up every 60 seconds:

Coffee is dangerous (it causes heart attacks). Duh.

I've been trying out Windows Defender Beta 2, but the jury's still out on it. I've noticed some weird CPU hogging by Defender (the replacement for MS AntiSpyware Beta). Weird. There are also less configuration options in it than in AntiSpyware. Good or bad? I just don't know yet.
As long as we're bragging about stats, Becca made it into the Top 10 on Monsters, Inc. Pinball Panic:

Good news for Brad - it looks like his Crackberry will remain operational. I'm sure he was losing sleep over it. Well, losing sleep for some reason, at least.
Well, we're officially Idahoans now. We spent some time this past Wednesday at the refreshingly empty DMV here and got our licenses and registration (also refreshingly cheap). So long, Nevada - no more expensive Nevada plates for us! And, wow, no lines - Reno could definitely learn a thing or two from this place!!
Becky and I tried some Booberry cereal, but it's definitely not as good as Count Chocula or Frankenberry. Speaking of which, we successfully completed the 3-pane dungeon maze on the General Mills monster cereals, by obtaining all three connecting back panels, then terrifyingly navigating the only safe path through to the end. Whew!
Becky and I tried our hands at a Pinewood Derby car - me with Misti's Dremel tool, and Becky with some sandpaper and crayons. The result:

We had Stake Conference today, but had to sit out in the hallway, because the entire chapel, overflow, gym, stage, and all the auxiliary rooms at the Stake Center were completely full, not to mention parking was a nightmare - we had to park out in the softball field on the grass! Wow, this stake is much larger than any of the Nevada stakes we've been in! We found the "To Days Long Past" cache yesterday. Took us two tries. =(
