On Saturday, after having an enjoyable breakfast at Perkins (including a free birthday slice of peach pie for Mist), we enjoyed the zoorific offerings of the Boise Zoo. The kids loved the animals, of course, especially the penguinos.
We also did some shopping on Saturday in downtown Boise, including grabbing some delicious ice cream treats from Maggie Moos, including one very delicious Strawberry Fields Fruit Smoothie. Mmmmmm.
We had an interesting time trying to eat at IHOP (International House of Pancakes) also - we went in, were promptly seated and given menus, and that was it! We sat for ½ hour just talking and helping the kids color their menus, etc., and still no waitress to take our drink orders or anything! Very bizarre! So we walked out.
And it's not like they were short-handed or anything. Other people around us came in after we did, got their drinks right away, and even started eating. It's like we were just plain invisible. Very weird. We ending up driving around looking for somewhere else we could handle eating at, and oddly enough ended up at another IHOP down the road - but this time we actually got to order! Yeah! =)
In other news, the Hendricks came over for dinner last night. We enjoyed a wonderful turkey meal with red potatoes, and a yummy chocolate cake ala mode for dessert. Mmmmmm.
Of interest only to techies, it turns out that OpenOffice is more susceptible to virii than MS Office. Super lame - although not surprising, really.
